Random Haiku
Arm feeling better.
Kitchen stove died yesterday.
Went out for Thai food.
Tales of my second go-round with breast cancer before the age of 40.
A chronicle—sometimes raw, sometimes reflective, always irreverent—of a life upended by a long shot and of the daily indignities and tiny victories that comprise it.

Loo-less in the City? Stove's now down and out? But you've got luv, luv, luv! (Now's the time to make that switch to raw food--just kidding. Even we vegans cook our food.) Kris
Yay! Happy arm.
Great excuse for cool new stove.
Gotta treat yourself.
gleaming stainless steel
whispering convection wind
culinary bliss
Go get a Viking
You can cook restaurant food
With a Viking range
Ordering the stove,
sixty bucks to ship from Sears.
Sears can screw themselves.
I suck at Haiku,
not at all like you.
But at least I can rhyme
Some of the time.
After midnight it is now,
and all I can say is "Wow"
Who else but you
could combine cancer and Haiku !
I am finally off to bed
thoughts of Zach and Jody in my head
And I agree that Sears sucks
But at least its just fifty bucks
So goodnight my dear friends,
This poem really needs to end
It's like an SNL comedy skit
that doesn't know when to quit
I really mean it now
I've taken my final bow
The next time you decide to Haiku
I promise not to do this again to you !
Much love,
Lin
Coincidentally, I have to go into a third grade class on Monday and have each of them write a Haiku. Now, how will I do this with a straight face?
